looking to buy a camera

Do you want a real deal video camera, or a more compact camera? I use a compact point and shoot camera that takes HD video and has a fairly good zoom and autofocus. It's a Lumix FX75 that I got real cheap online. The box had been opened but the camera was new and it cost $77 if I remember correctly. I got a 16 gb SDHC that will hold more video than I can take on one hunt

Probably just a compact. That was my biggest concern or question. Was what to look for in a zoom and pic quality. I have tryed before but the camera i was using was real grainy looking when zoomed in.

This camera, like most, will be somewhat grainy in low light. But the zoom is pretty decent. Go to my channel on YouTube and most of my vids are done with the Lumix (occasionally I use the iPhone camera but not often). Here's one video for example that is zoomed in for some of the shots - http://youtu.be/pS29lbH0EOg I personally like the camera especially for the money. However whenever I get a new one, I will look for an even farther zoom capability.

I use canon and Panasonic and sonys and I like both. ive used low and top end cameras and right now I use a handy cam pretty cheap and pretty good camera would like it to have a feature of manual focus other then that its good.

Are you planning to self-film, or are you filming for others?

It makes a big difference in which type of camera will work best for you.

Mostly for others but mite self film a little. Most likely out of a blind. Going to try to kill a couple with a bow and thought it would be nice to get it on film to.

From what I've read. I think I'm looking for a camera with a high optical zoom not a digital zoom. Am I correct on this.

yeah an optical zoom will definitely be better

If most of your subjects are w/ in 100yrds, a 10x optical zoom will work well.
