Well talked to my so called hunting buddies today. Looks like everybody is pairing up and going to differant places, where "only they can hunt", and I'm getting screwed  Everybody hunts my farm during deer season at will. Since I can't call a turkey to save my life, looks like I won't be going this weekend. Good friends huh! :cry:Guess I'll stay home and practice calling. Well next deer season they can kiss my you know what. Sorry just needed to vent. :( I'm so*#^$&@# mad!!! Anybody ever had any luck just stalking and not calling?

Well where is your place in Middle TN? Southern by chance? If it is close I might be able to some call for you.

I wouldn't be letting them hunt my place anymore if that is how they want to play.

Know where your coming from bud,Got a feller on this site thats hunted my spots butt loads of time now hes got a lease wont even speak to me or return my calls. Live and Learn

I always end up screwed is why I dont invite anymore.

It's on Center Hill Lake. 100ac

Dang that would be a haul from me. Maybe later in the year I can get away for a whole day and we can get after them.

Otterman, calling is really a very small part of it,in my opinion. Get out there and go,find the birds, pattern them. You'll learn quick. No time to start like the present.Good luck!

I have 3 buddies that say they can't call and for 20 years I have been calling for them. Well-I told them this year to learn to call for themselves. Don't get me wrong they're my buddies but a man has to draw the line sooner or later.

I understand where you're comming from after 20 years. This was going to be my FIRST time ever turkey hunting. I've spent a good bit of money getting ready and have gotten some great advice from the good people on TNDeer. I have played around with some calls, and plan on learning. "Teach a man to fish". Somethings are better in person than watching the internet. ;)

hey brother
i've seen turkey come to terrible calls! don't go just cause you think you're no good, you may get surprised!
and in the end, turkey hunting is about being out there on that spring morning the good Lord blessed us with. Just hearing a turkey makes my day.

otter

Center hill is sorta a haul for me as well but I am off Mon-thurs so if you hunt any of those days i would not mind riding up and calling some for you. Just let me know and I will see if i can work it out
