$10 Game Winner binocs.... no big loss, need a better pair anyway. Fell out of cargo pocket.

Wingbone call from my 1st longbeard and also first wingbone call I made.... should have had a lanyard. Fell out of my shirt pocket, probably when I was chasing down the jake I shot.

Good news is I got that jake which should have perfect sized wingbones, and I have the whole bird in the fridge, not just the typical cuts of meat. I will make 2 more wingbone calls and put lanyards on them. I was actually getting good at using that call after about a week or so of practice. Just need to work on consistency.

If you don't lose a few things each spring, you aren't hunting hard enough.

so true! i go through 3-4 strikers every year as well as at least 1-2 mouth calls.

Funny you should mention strikers, I set one down next to me this morning while working a bird, and when I went to pick it up, it was gone. After the dance was over, I looked everywhere for it, and the worms must have drug it under ground, because it was no where to be found.

I sure wish I had lost my striker instead of the wingbone... they are the same size too.. just had to have that wing bone call in my front pocket to easily access it. Won't take one out again without a lanyard. My tube call survives pretty well in my front pocket because it's small and doesn't fall out.

Check a pocket that you seldom use. Been there :D !

I wear overalls during turkey season and keep my wallet and phone in the chest pocket. Can always feel them there. Opening day last year I lost a week old Roberts bros glass call. Man was I sick. I sucked it up and replaced it. I hate when it happens but it's gonna happen.

Lost my ole yeller slate one year.
Looked EVERYWHERE for it but couldn't find it.
Bought another one and even though it was the "same" call it just wasn't the same.

Sanded on it and got it as close as I could to what I wanted and then stuck it in the pocket where I always kept my other ole yeller.......

Yeah I got two now. ;)

I havent lost anything yet this year although i have had to backtrack and locate a few things. I once had a lynch pro mini slate that was killer on the turkeys and i left it on top my truck and it fell off and i ran over it. Ordered another just like it and never had a turkey even gobble at the new one. LOL

I've lost about five pounds chasing these birds around.

thats one thing I like about getting in the woods...i end up doing a ton of walking and feel like i burn a zillion calories...but my weight on the scale says otherwise. :(

I am somewhere around 5' 10" and weigh 130, not likely I lose any weight during turkey season, hope I gain a little in muscle lol

Yep...I saw you at the east TN gathering. I am guessing the username goes with that????

Pre grouse season I clock in around 170 and by the end of turkey season I am pushing 155. At 6'2" I am pretty lean these days.
