Talked with the Landowner today and he told me sorry but his nephew will be hunting his property this season. I told him I understand and that I hope he has good luck. He replies yeah he should, he went and poured out a bunch of feed today so they should be in there good by this weekend.[emoji2359]

Gonna miss that place, I I've killed a lot of turkeys there over the last 8 years.

That stinks, especially this close to opener. Sounds like the nephew has it figured out. Feed'em up, shoot'em like yard chickens when they come in there pecking the ground. It's a darn shame people resort to that. Uncle needs to be careful who he tells, his nephew may have some company this weekend. How many acres is the property/farm?

Do your part and report him.

X2. Anonymously of course. He's obviously not a real turkey hunter. No telling how many he'll try to kill over that bait pile. But if an officer explains to him that he can't bait, good chance he goes back video games. Then maybe you get the spot back eventually.

I would absolutely "tip him off." Like others have said, he gets caught you may get your spot back when he goes back to computer games.

I'm all for law and order, however I would keep my nose on my face. Think about the long game for ZM. When the green men show up ZM is going to be at the very top of a short list of persons with motive to have turned him in. The Nephew won't be as mad as the landowner. It could be that the land owner is friends with other landowners in the area that still allow ZM to hunt. Then he looses more places. ZM has a lot more to loose than a couple of turkey. If he keeps in good spirits and good contact with land owner over the next year he could very well get to hunt it again next year. Lots of variables here.

Sorry Zach.... offer to call up the nephew's first bird for him after you've punched all your tags. He sounds like the type that could use a mentor.

Even if the warden didn't catch him in the act if he found the cornpile, couldn't hunt until 10 days after complete removal of the bait. Depending on how much he scattered, that could be a little while.

Sucks about losing a good spot...been there done that.
