lost power

I have had my horton crossbow for over 5 yrs no problems. But some reason this year when sighting in befor season ,i noticed it didn seem to shoot as fast. I checked string limbs etc.. couldnt find anything wrong. Well it has continued to get worse, I now have to use my 30 yd sight for my 20 yd shot. My question is , is the string stretched or worn out? What caused this ?

Just a suggestion, have it unstrung during the off season. Eventually anything will start to take a set under compression/tension.

I think I will take it to a bow shop and have them ck it out. See how fast it is shooting etc.. Get string replaced maybe see if that helps. I know it shot 285 fps when I first bought it. I dont think its close to that now.
