Lots of running, not much gunning

Hunted opener thru Tues. Couldn't strike a lone gobbler until Tues, when we found 2. Did OK right off the roost, with 2 of the birds dead less than 5 min after flydown. After flydown, it was a LOT of fruitless hiking. We did 25 miles the first 3 days without a single bird that would work. All 2 and 3 yos, 22 to 23lbs each. 1 young bird almost had double spurs, that would have been a first for me.
