Low Light Practice Before Season

Anybody been shooting a few arrows right at dusk? I've been stepping out back past few nights right at last light and shooting. It's fun!

I love shooting at dusk!! For those that use lighted nocks, wait until you can just barely see the target and setup a camera behind you and open the bulb exposure and you can capture the entire flight of your arrow. Not only is it very cool, it also tells alot of what your arrow is doing while traveling downrange.

I've been going out after the kids go to bed (around 8) and doing that. Makes it fun.

I've been doing it all summer. It's the only way I could tolerate the heat.

That is the toughest....sun in the eyes. Where my target is set up late afternoon I get the sun in the eyes and it is tough!

Try getting up right outta bed in morn and shoot just one arrow . It is s great tool to use I preparing for season.

Yep! Last year my brother and I shot at like 10:30 one night during a full moon! That was fun! You couldn't really tell what you were doing because you couldn't see the dots on the target so we just had to go by feel each shot. We had a few groups about the size of a softball at 20 yards.

Wow!! I need to try that...could you even see your pin?

Yeah! Seeing the pin was no problem, but you couldn't make out anything to aim at on the target. It just looked like you were aiming at a 4 foot by 4 foot black sheet.

Yeah, shooting in low light is great fun, I do it all the time. Plus it builds confidence when your out in the field early in the morning or later in the evening. Imo, everyone should practice this.
