Yes you will be happy with the moultrie's next to my homebrews I would go with the Moultrie..good camera

This is actually my second year running them. I bought 4 last year and then I got several this year from Cabelas for about $100 each. I also run several of the Covert 3.0 cameras. Those are really good for the money too.

What is the normal battery life for one of these units? I only get to make it out every three or four months to check cams

I run mine on video mode with a one minute delay. It takes a pic, then 10 seconds of video and then delays for a minute before firing again. I normally get about 600-800 videos per week and my batteries last about a month or so. I have run them on picture mode only with a 30 second delay and they lasted about 4-5 months. Hope that helps.

I have 3 m80's and 1 m80xt.... Love them. Guess the boss buck really works. How long did it take until they started feeding from it? Did they just find it or did you have to do something to get them to be brave enough to get up to it?
