Magnum Blends

Love them. If your gun/bbl/choke combination will pattern them well at the distances you typically shoot, you will be very pleased with their lethality and killing performance. They have proved to be devastating out of my gun (Rem 870 SP) at distances from 15-45 yards.

i like them, i shoot them some last year and will shoot them from my M3500 this year but I prefer the Hevi #7 to them. As my 2nd option i use the magblends mainly because they are easier to find.

the blend are stone dead killers,835 polished barrell with 670 puregold and 3in magblends

wow that is sweet with a 3" heck that is at what i get with them in my 3500 and thats with a 3.5" shell lol.

I do have a new choke to try them with so hoping for something to shock me (not literally of course)

In my opinion they are much better than the Nitro triplex. I personally like the combo of 33% 5s, 33% 6s, and 33% 7's. 35yds and in and all thats left for the head is a bloody mess......Shot one at 47yds last year it blew him over backwards and he never moved again.

Have you confirmed this with EM or have you cut a shell open to personally count them and see for yourself? Reason I ask is I was thinking about cutting a H517T Nitro shell open (2 7/16 oz of 4X5X7) and comparing the shot to the Magnum Blend (2 1/4 oz of 5X6X7 this weekend. The good side is I would finally know the truth, the bad side is it is a $15 project and two less shells I would have on hand. I have heard and highly suspect a lot greater percentage than 33% is #7s in Nitro shells, and I am wondering about the Mag Blends as well. I shoot both with great results in my gun, it is just more of a I want to know the truth thing than anything else. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Last week at the NWTF convention the guy in the Hevi-13 booth or Mid-south whichever it was told me it was divided up that way.Do i know for sure? NO. However I did have a Nitro pop open one time after it got wet and I can assure you there are way more 7s in there than anything else.

If I'm remembering correctly several counts were done last year by some folks @ oldgobbler.com. I don't think it was 1/3 of each. I think there were more 7#. But, I swear by Magnum Blend. My results have been great!
Be sure and "deep clean" your barrel, (instructions @ oldgobbler.com), it will make a big difference in your pattern.

I love them and have used them the past two seasons. Worth the money, Cabelas seems to have the best prices I have seen recently. If you go to the Hevi-Shot website you can print off a mail in rebate for $5.00 off per box of shells on the magnum blends.

Yep. They have had the rebate the past three years. Takes 3-4 months to get the check back, but $5 is $5.

Bad thing about the rebate is they only allow $10 per household.

That's per year, right? I was thinking my dad got it two consecutive years. Two boxes a season is all we need :D !
