I am fairly new to archery all together, having hunted archery only now for 2 years. However, I am interested in learning to shoot instinctively and make my own bow. Anyone have any experience and or have any good resources?

I used to sell blanks of osage orange on ebay to guys who would whittle out long bows.. that is the type of wood you will need to start with.. make sure its clear and free of defects

I think if i could ever build a bow completely from scratch, make my own string, knap my own broadhead from obsidian or whatever... If I could kill ANY deer after going through the process of building it and practicing with it, I would probably get a full body mount of the deer and put the bow in a decorative rack above it.

that seems like the pinnacle of hunting commitment and ability.

Of course, then there's always moving to a state that allows spears... :)
