I've asked this question in the "serious deer hunting forum", but thought that I would get some input from this forum. I'm looking at upgrading my Mathews LX to either the Reezen or the Monster. Any thoughts on either one?

I have the Reezen 7.0 and love it!! The Monster had a slightly harsher draw cycle and was louder than the Reezen. Is there a difference in speed...yes. But, the small difference in speed is made up for in quietness and i'll take that anyday! Go see Joe at Hermitage Archery, he has both there for you to shoot. You need to shoot for yourself and see which one you prefer, as you may have a different opinion after you shoot both bows. Good Luck!

I've never shot either but I would go with the single cam bow because they are generally easier to tune and keep tuned.

I was out on the Mathews Forum yesterday and read a post about the Reezen 6.5 vs 7.0. One of the tech's stated that the Reezen was designed with the 6.5" brace height and they just offered the 7" due to lots of requests from consumers. I took it that the bow was designed to shoot optimally at the 6.5" brace height, but if the extra 1/2" offers some additional forgivness for a loss of 5fps it may be worth it.

We've sold a lot of both, and all the feedback we are getting is very positive. The Monster is wound a bit tighter, so string stops (Dead End or STS) are a must. Transition into the wall is a bit more pronounced with the Monster, but hasn't seemed to cause anyone any issues. The Reezen really speaks for itself. Awesome rig! Very quite, super fast, and downright dead in your hand. Stop by the shop and we'll let you shoot a couple and you can decide for yourself. We are The Archery Den and are off exit 61 right beside the Williamson Co Ag Center. 6155676243

I prefer the monster to the reezen but both are great bows. Plus the new bows will be released monday.
