Mathews Grips

I know of several that have taken theirs off but not sure how. You would think with the high price of these top end bows from all companies they would have replacement grips to choose from.

There are replacement grips aftermarket. If you buy one from a bow shop they will take the old one off for you. Many people replace the Mathews grip because of the way it sits on the bow. There are some good ones out there fairly cheap.

Tried thew hair dryer tip and it don't work...it might if you want to sit there all day. I personally don't like a grip of any kind. I take a small screwdriver and work it under the bottom of the grip and start working it up towards the shelf. If you think you might trade the bow later take extra care in this. The glue is some pretty good stuff. Once you get it broke loose from the back of the rise just pull it straight back. It may still be stubborn so be careful. I have used a rubber mallet and gently persuade it off.

I'm like Tox. I have grown accustom to no grip at all. The 101st I had, had a custom grip on it and i did like Tox said. I just CAREFULLY pryed it off. I put a rag over the tip of the screwdiver so not scratch the finish of the bow or the grip. Work at it slow and don't force it too much. the sides of the grips are very thin and crack very easily.

I'm glad to see that most bow companies have gone to a two piece screw on type of grip. Makes life easier.

If you put the dryer on the grip and work the heat over the grip it will work....usually takes around 15 minutes tops.... You gotta work the grip back and forth and maybe heat again...It doesn't take all day though..

Ditto . I have used a hair drier on the Mathews grips and had no problems getting them loose . I gently pry them from the bottom when I get the glue heated up enough to loosen it from the riser.
