Mathews Monster 353.fps

generally, advertised speeds(IBO) are achieved using a 70 lb. bow, 29 inch draw and 5 gr. per inch arrows.

IBO speeds are got with a 30dl at 70lb with a 350 grain arrow with nothing on the string. The monster is a awesome bow. If you expect it to have a draw cycle like a dxt, or switchback or something like that...you will be disappointed. All that energy and speed comes at a price. That being said. The draw cycle isn't bad at all! Nowhere near what I expected when I first shot it. I have had mine for awhile now and couldn't be happier.

The Monster looks like a nice speed bow with allot of advancements in technology.
IBO speeds are for comparison purposes and can be hard to obtain unless the exact setups are duplicated the same as the factory setup . Variances are common .

Nice bow but... my bottom signiture says it all!

No problems at all with accuracy here... :)
I'm with ya... just sometimes I know hunters get caught up in shooting something that is advertised to shoot faster than the speed of light... even though the bow may not fit them, uncomfortable, or the brace height is so short it takes someone who has matured as a shooter to be accurate with the bows that blaze an arrow so fast.
Personally I like a bow that fits me, and I am comfortable with, and can shoot accurately. If speed comes with these things, then all the better. Git R Dun

A 5inch brace height! Dang that's really short! I think I would have to pass just because of that!

The regular Monster has a 6 inch BH. The Monster XLR8 has a 5 inch BH.

I bought one a month ago and I love it I shoot great with it and im not a great shot. I shoot 324fps with 70 pounds and a 405 grain arrow.I have a 29 in draw.It has a short brace highth but It does not seem hard to shoot for me.
