I got me a z7 after having a DXT, Drenalin, XT, and Outback. It amazes me how mathews can always improve on an already great product!! Till the Z7 the Drenalin was my pick thus far, but the Z7 is absolutely amazing.. It's like shooting a stick of butter!! Smoothest bow I've ever shot!! Quiete, fast, and forgiving!! Can't wait to draw back on some tender viddles!!
 
i haven't had the opportunity to shoot the Z7. i would rank the drenalin last of the 4 you listed. i just didn't like it. i thought the DXT was the best hunting bow mathews had made since the zmax. i have shot 3 bows that made me go "WOW". i own 2(zmax and outback) and wish i had bought the third(DXT). and yes, i have shot other manufacturers bows.

Nothing like shooting the Z7. Did you go to Customer Gear in Michie TN to buy yours or come to Jackson?
 
I shot the Z7 for a few shots the other day and to be honest with you I wasn't that impressed with it. It was smooth to draw and smooth to shoot but so have all the others in the last few years. The one I shot had some play in the backwall of it..felt spongy but I'm coming from a BowTech that has a draw stop and doesn't move at all when it hits it. Maybe that particular one just needed the cables twisted a little or something; not real sure. But they are fixing to announce their 2011 bows in a couple months so the Z7 wont be hyped up as much and everybody will be selling them to buy the latest and greatest.
 
I also traded about a month ago , trading in my DXT for a Z7. I traded with Mike Ashe in Michie, who by far has the best service and prices. I heard all the talk about how great the Z7 was, and I'm a believer! By far the best, most forgiving bow I've ever shot in 34 years of shooting bows. I cant wait to get to Illinois in early November. The Z7 is the finest hunting bow Mathews has ever made. I LOVE mine. The bow is soo dead, and quiet it's amazing.
 
Has anybody heard any rumors about what Matt has coming out this year?

I've shot the Z7 and it's a nice feeling bow. It's super quiet and light. It looks bulky but feels great. I'm not to fond of the draw cycle on it. It kinda felt spongy or something.

Great bow tho! I like the feel of the DXT the best. I've never touched one off tho.
 
Am i the only one who thinks the new safari looks hideous???

Best bow I ever shot was the Switchback XT. If the Z7 or DXT performs anything like the XT...I'll be more than happy.I plan on buying one of these in 2011.
 
I know they are great bows ( at least, thats what all my friends say), but honestly, my Reezen is an absolute gem to shoot. It is hard for me to even fathom feeling much improvement over my Reezen. Mathews makes some great bows and for now, I will stick to the one I am in love with. ;)
