Looking for a good place to purchase a Z7X or Bow Madness XS.

What are your opinion of the two and who has the best prices within a couple of hours of Jamestown.

Thanks for suggestions!

1st thing... try to get to a shop and shoot the bows 1st! You may want a prettyboy bow(lol, mathews joke) but you might hate the draw or something about it. Not to beat on Mathews(great bows), you may love it too. Lots of guys do!!! If I could get a new Z7 for what I paid for a new BM then I would be all over it.
Can you work on your own bow or do you like to? A bowpress? I have a homemade press that cost me $25 bucks to make. I have a bowmadness but I am a bargin shopper most of the time. I got mine off eders.com and you get a good discount if you are military.

Thanks for the replies. I held a bow madness today in Cookeville. I think I am going to check out a Mathews tomorrow.

Medic: I can do some of my own work and I do the same thing you do, bargain shop. I will check out eders and see what I can get a BM for. I really like to feel of the one today. Something felt right about it.

The PSE has a better grip in my opinion . I have two PSE's , an X-Force Dream Season 7, and a Mach X . They both are sweet shooters . The Z7 is supposed to be a nice bow , but I shot my friends and hated the draw cycle . To each his own , shoot both and decide for yourself .

that is the best advice you will get. just holding a bow won't tell you much. you need to shoot it.

Thanks and I agree. I've been shooting bows for the better of 16yrs. The last one I bought was a Pearson Pride and I have mostly shot Pearson. I've been out of buying bows for the past several years due to deployments. I thought I would see if anyone had an pros or cons about the two and places to get a better deal before I started shooting them.

Regarding the Bowmadness.
The strings that come on the BM SUCK! You can get some good custom strings for $65 or less, just check on archerytalk.com. There is always some great string deals on there from someone. I can't complain about anything else on the bow. That is the only bad I have with mine. I just checked eders.com and they don't have much in, 1ea 2010 BM at $540 shipped to your door. I will guess and say they are low on old stock and getting 2011 bows in soon. I would want the 2011 over 2010.

It is very easy to setup. I too was a Pearson guy with an old 2002 diamondback(big thick grip). The thin grip is so much better. I felt like I moved from the dark ages going from the diamondback to the BM.

put a zebra string on bm and eliminate peep twist. omen had ab string on it and it was terrible.z7 stock string seems to be ok.

I think the pro series bows have Americas best bowstrings made with 452X . They are upgraded from the strings on the Bow Madness . If I were making the choice , I would go with the X-Force Vendetta XL in black for $599 . It's a pro series bow with a better string and I like the longer 35"ATA and 7 1/4" brace.

The Zebra string is the worst string I have ever had on any of my Mathews bows . I changed them out with Vapor Trail strings made with 452X.

Yup, all pro models come with americas best bowstrings. I have HEARD they are great strings. The Vendetta XL would be a good bow too. I am going to spend some money this spring and get a Dream Season Evo(as long as it still has good reviews and there is no US martial law, lol). It has already been cleared thru the wife.

if your close to a bass pro just go shoot the heck out of all their bows in the back room. i got a pse stinger from there originally priced around 450 i think? but got it on sale for 300 plus tax. pretty good deal for a big store but it was around christmas time, but i love the pse!
