maxxis 31 or z7

If it was me, my choice would be the Z7 based on what I think is the smoother draw bow and better feeling upon release. But, it's your hands that have to shoot it, not mine. Go with the one that feels "the without-a-doubt" the best in your own hands. Hopefully, this has helped, but for anyone to help you with this choice is like me asking a stranger how a particular shoe fits on their foot and me basing my decision on their results. Hopefully, I haven't come across the wrong way; it's not my intentI just don't know any other way to put it.

shoot them both, the only reason I bought the Z7 was because I heard how great the mathews warranty was and how willing they were willing to fix most anything for you. Both bows shoot outstanding though.

Just buy them both and then see which one you like. Then give me the one you don't like.

I haven't shot them, but looks and spec alone the Maxxis would be my pic, but there again I haven't shot either of these bows.

I understand what you are saying totally!

Never thought I'd say this cause I was HOYT through and through but if I had the choice it would be the Z7, IMO, Mathews is a more smooth and more forgiving bow for me.

we have had 5 bows in last 2 years and they are so much different.Ryan loves his new Z7 , the smaller grip causes less hand torque , now he has a few hundred thru it (1 week old)it is the smoothest we have ever seen .But all of that may mean nothing to the way you shoot or how it feels in your hands. We put a arrow in draw back (with your eyes closed)a few feet from target and release. When doing this it blocks everything but how the bow feels when it is most important during draw and release.I used to be all Hoyt until I shot Alpine.Ryan is grouping 1" out to 40 consistently with the Z set up for hunter class , and a little tighter w/longer stab.
