May 26 strutter

Was driving some back roads outside of Columbia yesterday after fishing a remote area. Saw a few lone hens, couldn't see any babies. At one point there were 2 jakes running down the road and I almost hit them before they finally flew. Saw their short beards real close. Then further down the road, I saw several birds in a field, and one was in full strut. But by far the coolest thing I saw on that road was a pair of bobwhite quail standing on the edge of the road. Wish I had stopped and gotten a pic.
