Well after 15 years of my PSE SRL1000 Infinity I have finally upgraded to the sweetest thing I have ever shot. Got a new PSE Bowmadness XS and man it is awesome!!! I have always slung aluminum tipped with a 100gr Thunderhead and now with the new bow I figured I would step into this century. I have had to learn about carbon arrows and looking at getting new broad heads. I have heard good things about Rage and Rocky Mt Snypers. Any problems I need to know about or any recommendations on any others. I am wanting to get some soon and get things going. Got the bow up and zeroed in but a wanting try for a turkey next week.

Thanks
TNDOC

The only mechanical head that I have confidence using is the Rage 2-Blade. I've used it & the holes they leave are downright scary.

How do they fly, ever have any problems with opening during flight? The snyper is the same design with rear deployment slip cam but has a band that holds it closed during flight. I am completely lost with this stuff, it is just very hard to break old habits and change.

I have used RM snypers for the last 3-4 seasons. They are nearly the same as the rage heads, but they don't come open as easy if you bump the arrow on a limb or your stand or something. And they are cheaper. Cabela's don't have em in this years catalog. I hope I can still get them.

You don't have to worry about the head opening in flight as long as the o-rings are in good shape. They fly right with my field points.

RAGE TWO BLADE.... I have never lost a deer that i have hit with a rage...knock on wood and cross my fingers and talk bad about momma.... they are awesome..

I have used rage 3 blade broadheads the past 2 years,no problems with expanding great holes, great flightand easy tuning.I highly recommind them.

You can still get them directly through their website but they don't have the gators which a pal recomended to me as well. I have friends on both sides of this debate but I am probably going to go with the rage just because 1) they come with a practice head so i don't automatically lose a head. 2) over 1/2in wider cutting diameter. Heck I may get both and see which
ones I like best.

Trophy Ridge Undertakers!!!!!

Shot 4 with them last year!
3 didnt go 40 yards!
gut shot 1 and he didnt make it 70 yards!
Awesome entry and exit holes!!

trophy ridge(formerly rocket) miniblasters. 75 gr. ANY arrow will kill a deer on a good shot. it's the results on less-than-perfect shots that impressed me.

I use the Rage 2 blade and never had any problems with them openning up in flight. One awesome broadhead

Great I'll probly order mine very soon. I have enough older RM snypers laying around I use them to practice with.

I don't believe the 1/2 difference in diameter. After seeing on multiple occasions the 2 3/4" - 3" wide cuts with the RM..I think that is a marketing deal on rage. I'd bet they are very close to the same. RM used to have a plastic farell, but they caught up and now have aluminum I guess metal of some sort. So there's my 2 cents. Both are good head I just perfer to not have to pay for the practice head and I like the rubber band rather than the rear mounted o-ring.

I went to the Trophy Ridge undertakers last year, only got to hunt a couple of times before a injury ended my hunting season. Hope to test them on a deer this year if all is healed up.

Stik is recommended a great broadhead. I've killed deer with the Miniblaster. They leave a nice big hole. I am actually shooting a fixed head though. I can touch the fixed head up most of the time if I miss a deer whereas the mechanical blades are generally always messed up beyond repair from rocks in the ground.

I just have an aversion to mech heads. Lost a deer with a spitfire and never went back. Rages look pretty good from what I've seen...any head has its horror stories. Id look at the Grim Reaper mech heads as well.
