Took my bow to Mboro outdoors yesterday to get a new string put on and got a real good look at my "melted" string.

After closer inspection, I don't think it melted.

My bow has been loosing speed for the past couple years. Still shoots and tunes up good but my 20-30-40 yd pins get further apart.

Last season I had to add some twists to my string to get it back in spec. As this season has progressed, my string loop had rotated 180' to where it was pointing forward.

I think the heat from the truck melted the wax and softened up the string material to the point where a weak failing spot was able to pull apart.

Just thought it might help someone else avoid a mid season disaster.

If your bow "changes" without a good reason, get your string and cables checked out. They may be at the point of failure without being obvious until too late.
