Been that way for many many years! I agree with pearl and stallings also:/ it's not like they started the baseline coaching box last season, If It's a problem they should have changed it 63!!! Years ago lol.

Memorial gym is sure unique,raised floor with very long sidelines and benches at end of court,I wish they wouldnt change it!
It's interesting that they voted last May, but it has just now being reported. I guess they waited to see what the NCAA said after the appeal.
You have to admit that Stallings does have an unfair advantage with his foot stomp and piercing whistle, so this evens the playing field

I think this is totally ridiculous! Pisses me off! The place has been like this since the early fifties!
If the league and coaches want all arenas to be the same, then they should be the same. Same number of seats, same setup, etc. They will probably have to move the shot clocks now to make it just like all the other places. Heck, maybe if enough coaches complain that neyland is too loud and they can't coach the players they will remove say, 50000 seats

That's bull. I'm no Vandy fan but that's part of what makes Memorial Gym a neat place.

Only a few more times to go watch a game there until change is forced. I'm waiting on a phone call now for tickets to tonight's game vs Miss State @ 8:00. GO DORES!!!
Mudbone, can anything be done about this? A write-in campaign? Vandy is private but the General Assembly is in session and I'd imagine the SEC gets some TN taxpayer money somehow (eg, via UT dues/membership fees?) or subsidies to the SEC to host the basketball tournament? Maybe it's already been tried. Vandy alums would include some powerful and well heeled individuals.

I really don't know. I know this has been an issue for years but I thought this discussion was over and done with. I am very surprised it has made it this far. Every team playing in the gym is at the same disadvantage. I've always loved it the way it is.

Not totally true. I'd guess that since Stallings coaches half his games every year in that building he's come up with some sort of system to call plays. A buddy of mine played football there and we were talking about it today and he agrees its an advantage for Vandy and it should be. Thats part of having home court advantage.Mudbone":32x3wcmj said:
