For everyone using Sony homebrews.Where are you finding memory cards at? The memory stick pro duo will not fit our cameras that we are building and we are having problems finding the standard memory stick locally.

I watch Ebay and Amazon. You can get an adapter though for the Pro Duos to make them work and thats what most folks do. Adapters are cheap but you do need to make sure you get genuine adapters and not knockoffs.

Yup, I've had knock-off adapters not work at all. I use only Sony adapters.

That said, I have always had Sony pocket digital cameras for personal use, hence I have a TON of Memory sticks and Memory Stick Pros.

That's the problem we are running into BSK,all of the trail cameras and personal cameras we have had all used a regular SD card, which you can find anywhere.

I think this is yet another reason many home brew builders are shying away from the Sony cameras that require this media type. I am fortunate in the fact that I have plenty as well.

We are going to look at some different cameras. We just haven't decided which ones yet. We were able to get some really good deals on the Sony's from a member on here, thus we are using them for our first couple of builds.

I'm just a huge fan of Sony digital cameras. In my opinion, they have the best combination of image quality and flash power. However, their use of proprietary memory cards is their greatest weakness.

You can use a Sony S600. They do not require the big memory stick or the adapter... they take only the card itself (commonly found locally)

Just a thought. I have been looking into some of the Panasonics, that uses the typical SD card.

Correct. The Sony S600 uses the "half-sized" Memory Stick Pro Duo.

All of the newer cameras like the W series take the smaller Sony Duo cards. On my website I am now offering these cameras in all my builds.
