After a pretty uneventful morning hunt yesterday at my place, I drove to another farm that I hunt and found 3 gobblers and some hens out in a field. As I was trying to get into position, the birds were spooked by the landowner who just happened to be doing some work close by. They scattered and went across the road. I drove around and got on the other side of the farm where I figured they would go and set up. I gave them about an hour to calm down and gave a few soft yelps. The gobblers answered me off to my right. I repositioned and they gobbled again closer. All 3 walked up just under 40 yards looking for a hen. 2yr old bird. 9 3/4" beard and 15/16 spurs. Killed him at 12:55. Rem 870 compact 20. TSS #9.
