Middle of the day?

What are the birds doing now in the middle of the day? Where I'm at its one gobbler prob 6. Jakes and a few hens. They won't leave the hens and they all stay in the field till 9 or 10am then go into the woods and are never seen or heard again.

Around here it's been really tough to get any response after fly down. You might give it a week before leaning on them mid day.

Called up a lone gobbler today in the woods around midday. Some toms still have groups of hens but some are alone... Also I haven't seen many in fields the past few days. They've been in the woods... Open hardwoods and also creek bottom thickets.

Been tough sledding around here. Seriously watched 2 toms strut with a group of 9 hens yesterday for 4 hours and they never went further then 30yds the whole time. I eventually just left cause I got tired of waiting and watching it lol


Others I've had give a curtesy gobble hear and there but had no interest in playing ball.

What he said. I did pass a field full of them this morning around 8:30 and there were probably 10 in full strut with a bunch of hens.
