I shoot the 20 gauge Heavyweight 7's and I wouldn't trust a 40 yard shot with 20 gauge lead shells.

I've been hoping they'd start offering those Fed Heavyweights in a #8 size shot, and figure either if I greatly stock up on #7's, or about the time I load a bunch of TSS, they'll come out with #8's!!! :mrgreen:
Right now for 20 ga., unless you handload TSS, Federal Heavyweights remain the cat's meow.

I thought it was ok but wasn't blown away.
40 yards? Definitely good enough to kill at whatever distance it was.
