I've been predominately a fixed broadhead fan over the years, but have killed my last two deer with a mechanical (Swacker and Killzone). I currently have Slick Tricks in my bow quiver from last season. But, I've bought some Rage Hypodermics after seeing the slo-mo shots with the blood flying from Rages on several hunting shows. Apparently from watching those shows, you just aim for the middle of the deer, fire away, call it a great shot (or smoked him) when it goes through the guts, and watch him fall over within sight. Aim big, miss big sounds like an easier concept than what I've been trying to do.
Anyway, to the root of my question: I've recently dropped the poundage a little on my bow to account for an aging shoulder. I will be hunting with my Mathews set at 63#s barring any setbacks. Is that adequate to get decent penetration with a Rage if I decide to go that route? I highly suspect some of the "pros" are shooting them at much less of a draw weight with the way they are able to hold for extended periods of time and the fact that you see a lot of shots with minimal penetration (but good results).
Any thoughts from those of you that use the Rage?
