In 10 minutes I had 4 shots on a pack of does today.
Had a doe at 19 yds. Nailed her within an inch or 2 of where I was aiming. One down!
Then I had 7 more walk in on me. Missed a doe at 6 yards! Steep down angle. Found a small patch of hair, no blood and watched the doe for several minutes. Whiffed.
Then I had another shot at 16yds and missed Left on that one! Deer was facing left slight 1/4 away. Aimed at second to last rib for just behind offside shoulder exit. Saw arrow hit dirt in FRONT of her left front leg!!!! WTH ???
Finally had a small doe standing 11 yds from my tree facing left.
Got a good 1/4 away angle. Aimed at last rib for an opposite shoulder exit. Doe jumped the string and I skipped the arrow off the back/side of her neck! About 10-12" LEFT of where I aimed. She had a small cut but will be fine.
Trying to figure out how I can be dead on, then wiff 3 shots to the LEFT. Bow made a funny noise on 2 of the last 3 shots.
I suspect the front of my jacket was puffing out and getting in the string. If you are right handed and your jacket hits the string, will you pull your shots to the left or right?
Still trying to figure out what went wrong.
