Trying to decide between a mission ballistic or a venture. The Ballistic looks to be a little quicker 330 fps vs 321. But is speed isn't everything right. I am a fairly new Archer and have heard from multiple people single cam is the way for a newb and the venture is single cam, just can't decide. I've been able to shoot a ballistic and it was awesome compared to my Jennings buck master, Hah. Haven't been able to find a venture to shoot, would like to shoot side by side. I will primarily be deer hunting out of a tree but a little turkey action. Possibly a little 3-d action also. Any thoughts about these two would be appreciated.

I own and just finished my second season bowhunting with a Venture.
It is a good hunting bow.

I got injured November of 2012 and had to drop poundage from mid sixties to 56 pounds. With a 28 inch draw, at 56 pounds and a 27 inch arrow, I am getting about 270 fps for my hunting set-up.

This allows me to use a top pin fairly flat out to about 27 yards.

The bow is short, 30 inches Axle to Axle, and has a generous 30.25 inch brace height. It is fairly forgicving but definitely NOT a 3-d shooter.

oops

I personally would go with the Venture, vs the Ballastic if it were my choice. As far as which is better, the difference is how each bow feels in the shooters and during every aspect of the shot sequence. The single vs. dual cam shootability argument pertaining to new archers isn't really applicable with the advancement in recent equipmentthat is old school thinking. However, the Venture will be a lot easier to fine-tune/maintain, and cheaper to work on as well. However, single cam bows typically will have a smoother draw cycle than an aggressive dual cam system willthe shooter will have to decide that.

....and you can never go wrong with the generous and forgiving 30.25 brace height the Venture offers! :D

I forgot what the Venture looked like but that was a good bow. I just looked it up. String suppressors, roller guard (if that matters to you), solo cam=Good buy
