Went to NWTF today, this is becoming a yearly trip. Intended to get a Sumtoy choke and a FastFire 3 for my new 835. Plus, going to finally get a Lifetime license from TWRA.
Well, Sumtoy wasn't at the show. I'd been calling them with no one answering and their answering machine was full. No joy.
As for the FastFire, not one single exhibitor was selling them.
TWRA was relegated to outside the exhibit hall. I finally found them and happened to met the Director. He was not a happy camper with their location, and said this wouldn't happen again. Was told that they are only selling about 1/3 the normal amount of licenses.
On the plus side, I got the chance to talk with Mr. Tom Kelly and get one of his books. I feel smarter just for shaking his hand!
On another plus, I got PLENTY of exercise. Could get nowhere near official parking, so parked behind Bob Evan's restaurant and walked to the hotel. After not finding the FastFire, decided to hike to BassPro (no parking there either, so might as well walk). Guess what? They apparently don't even carry any version of the FastFire.
