MMA

Cool, yeah my MMA trainer is a Black Belt in Karate(not sure which kind, but has Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo, Boxing Experience as well. My BJJ trainer is a Black Belt under Helio Soneca, and I start Judo classes next Wednesday.

I started to back last November, but it got old to me after 6 months or so. I got tired of being sore to be honest....LOL I'm hoping to get back into Tae Kwon Do after our kid is born.

I still go to the same gym to workout and sit in on the MMA training sessions occasionally. We have a fight scheduled for Nov 7th in Winchester, TN at North middle school if anyone is interested in coming. Tickets are $25 @ the door and $20 at Winchester and Tullahoma GNC and Kroger or you can get them at Bunny's Gym. Dang! I act like I'm getting paid to advertise...LOL

Sore , yep, i guess you just have to get used to it. I am debating on whether or not my nose is broke. I got caught with an accidental head butt last night and it hurts to even wear my glasses. LOL, but I love it, it's probably the funnest thing I have ever done.

Yup. I just figured the smartest thing for me to do is get out of it before I was tempted to start fighting in competitions though. We have about 5 guys fighting now and about 25 or so training.

I'm going to keep on thinking about it and go back Monday....Dangit!

my knees are fine, never had any problems there. I have a bit of a shoulder problem every now and then. My left shoulder just tends to get aggravated a little bit every now and then, but nothing serious. I have been training seriously (almost everyday) for 5 months, but all in all about 1 year off n on BJJ. JKD was about 1 1/2 years. With that said I am definetely not an expert but I have a passion for the sport.

I teach BJJ and a reality street-fighting class at a school just outside of Memphis (in Germantown).
Our schools primary focus is on Shotokan karate, but we cover a lot of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, and just plain old 'butt-kicking'.
This past Monday night I taught my class on how to take a knife away from someone that's really trying to cut you. All the students always love that class!

started in tkd ,then went to kickboxing.. always trained with only gloves and head gear ..no full body suit..done this for over 2 yrs..have trained in bjj also .. we didnt do weight classes in kickboxing just get out there and throw down.. i dont kick to the head that much ,kicks can be very good if u keep them low, leg kicks will knock above avg man to the ground with tears in his eyes..use a jab to set up kicks to the mid section hard to catch a kick when there blocking a jab

yeah those low kicks can be hard to defend. I spent about 12 years in tkd before i switched styles. Those spinning and jumping kicks are pretty but no use on the street.all elbows and knees in tight.

thats why i didnt use them that much very few times. i did knock a 2nd degree blackbelt down one time with a flyinh kick..lol
i have seen several ribs broke with a spinning back kick..and been knocked down by 1
