morning vs evening

I usually hunt them the same as early morning, go to roost spots and walk slowly and listen hard. Have had some awesome evening hunts but i dont do it much these days with kidos at home.

Ok i was just curious im only about 10 mins away from a public spot i hunt at work and was thinking about getting some evening hunts in couple days a week after work. So is evening a more spot and stalk kinda hunt?

I've had some awesome and pretty successful evening hunts, usually by being where the birds are headed. Have also called some in during the evening

Much prefer morning, but yesterday evening called up a fired up gobbler right before sunset before the hens nearby flew up to roost. He came to my call instead of the hens across the power line cut, and the hens flew up to roost just a few minutes after I killed my bird. An awesome hunt and I almost killed a strutting Tom last year on opening Sunday, so I won't overlook an evening if I have one off work to hunt.

Prefer the morning but don't discount the afternoons. Hunted with my son Saturday afternoon and this afternoon. On Saturday had a bird shock gobble at my crow call. Got him to under 100 yards but he didn't see anything and just hung out. This is all going on while its drizzling rain and he's gobbling pretty good. This afternoon we pull in and there's one standing in full strut less than 100 yards away and I can't do a thing. We waited for him to get out of site and then circled around with no luck. He gobbled once maybe twice and that was it. If I have a chance to go in the afternoons I do.
