Mossberg 835

I have an old Mossberg 835 that I used to shoot along time ago. I was cleaning out the old gun closet and I got to thinking that I may do some upgrades on it and make it a just for turkeys. Anyone have any recommendations on stocks and barrels. I have looked into thumbhole and pistol grip stocks. Just not sure about them.

if I were to get one for mine I would get a pistol grip. and a jelly head and some kind of sights.

Just get a jellyhead choke and leave it in and that will be all the turkey gun u will ever need. They kick like a donkey but the jellyhead takes a lot of the kick out of it somehow. I wouldn't trade mine for any of the $1000 turkey guns.

I feel sorry for you rockhound.
ATI stock is good and the 835 I had used a jellyhead choke.

Truglo SSX .670 choke is money in my 835.

Rhino or Kicks Gobblin Thunder works the best in my 835.

The ones that use the tactical pistol grips, did you put a cheek pad on it. I read somewhere that if you don't with turkey loads something about chipping teeth.

My Mossberg has the 28" barrel would you leave it or go to 24" or 26" barrel

I have a thumbhole on my 835. It seems to reduce the recoil and is much more comfortable to hold when I am set up on a bird that is slowly coming in.

Does Mossberg sell a replacement pistol grip stock for the 835?

I fired mine for the first time today, after buying it used last year. It does have a pretty good thump to it, even with ported barrel.
Specs - Polished Barrel, SumToy choke and FastFire III.
Holy crap, does this thing put LBs in a tight group!!

ATI makes a regular pistol grip for the 835.

I have a .690 Jellyhead in mine, been looking for an Tactical
recoil suppression stock for it. Shoots the new LB great..
though Im leaning towards a reduction to .680 or so possibly...

Gotta go with the ATI stock and Kicks Gobblin Thunder. My gun loves the Kicks !

They will kick like a mad mule with a tactical stock. Instead of that, I'd buy a Sims Limbsaver pad for it and put it on the factory stock.

I am not recoil sensitive but the 835 is the hardest kicking shotgun I've ever fired. They are great guns, just punishing.
