Mouth call recommendations?

i really like the primos piggy back that i just got but wanted to know what all everyone else prefers.

for the money HS strut are my fav. I like a couple different ones but to each his own and alot depends on the caller and how he likes them.

Woodhaven makes a FANTASTIC mouth call but a bit more in price as does Legacy

I like Knight and Hales inverted V cut, as well as H.S. struts' Cuttin 2.5.....and Primos' Diamond Back....and all of Quakerboy's Screemin green series....I could go on for a while

just to pass this along. I got some calls from a buddy of mine yesterday called Majic calls. He gave me a few different ones to test and they actually sound pretty good. I emailed the guy who makes them and he lists them mostly on Ebay and he sells them for like 14$ for 6 of them. Allegedly he use to work for quakerboy and quit at which time he started making his own stuff. For the money they sound very good. Anyways I asked if he had another web site to check out and he said not at this time.

anyways incase anyone wants to check them out they sound pretty good.

I dont use them much. Mostly crystal slate with wooden striker works for me.

Been at that game for almost 20 years and have decided that the best call is the one you can work properly for the least $$$. For some, it'll be a double reed, for others, a quad reed is great. Personally, I seem to be able to find the Quaker boy 4 bagger pack for around $10. It really doesn't matter which call of the 4 I use. Just find fresh calls which are cheap.

Now I do have a stronger opinion on slate calls. I wouldn't give up my woodhaven custom crystal for anything.
