Any recommendations for videos to watch? There are tons out there on how to learn to use a mouth call but would just like to weed out the worst ones. TIA.

Maybe a tiny bit advanced for the new mouth calling pupil but also consider NWTF contest vids. Watch jaw, pursed lips, cupped hands, tounge flutter...little tiny things that make an individual note or a full sequence come out straight up turkey.

Keep practicing and you'll be mouth calling like a real hen soon enough.

X2 on the using it on the way to work. I drove my wife crazy using it around the house haha. I kept it in my Jeep and used it to and from work for about 3 weeks. Watch a few YouTube videos of people showing you the basics and then start watching videos of actual hens calling. Nobody can teach you how to talk turkey better than an actual turkey. If you're doing it right, you'll wind up calling in hens and you'll get to hear up close what they really sound like. That's what I did and I called in several hens this past season, it was cool. I also called in some gobblers :tu:

Practice, practice, practice. When I first tried them I carried one everywhere I went. The first year I had them I didn't even carry one to the woods because I just couldn't get a turkey sound out of it. I played with it until the next season and now won't go to the woods without at least a couple of them in my pocket. Once you get a sound you just adjust using it until you get it right.
