Woodyard felt sorry for me and took me fishing lol
My buddy wants to have a fish fry Friday so I jumped at the chance, especially since I am craving crappie.
On the same bait I caught black crappie, white crappie, largemouth bass, bream, warmouth and chain pickerel lol
We kept 10 crappie
2 bass
2 warmouth
9 bream
Fantastic time!
We caught as many short crappie as we did keepers
This was the first keeper of the day.

Not a bad mess of fish there! Did you enter that slab for the TARP?

Just printed the stuff out to do it.
Sucks, I had two more that qualified for it a couple years ago, printed it all out and never sent them in. :bash:

That is an awesome crappie! Can you share what bait you were using and depth? Also what water temp are seeing where you are fishing?

I was using a 1/16 ounce ( I think ) arke jig head with a chartreuse head.
Got them at walmart, they have the sickle hook though. I love those hooks!!
For some reason I can't post a picture of one.

2" Bobby Garland "the original" baby shad crappie jig body. The color I was using is called cajun cricket.

Terry caught quite a few on just a black and chartreuse crappie jig.

We caught them everywhere from 8-10 feet around structure or creek edge all the way to right up against the bank.
We were talking about how there was no rhyme or reason to where they were.

I wanna say the water was 62 degrees? I can't remember really.

We were casting and working the baits, only one rod each.

This was in a <200 acre watershed.

Thanks for the info. I like that Cajun cricket color. I just found some on Amazon and got some on the way. I have a few chartreuse and black, and white ones. Getting ready to take about a week off of work and dedicate some time to filling the freezer. Sure hope this weather turns back warm in a another week.

Ruger has always been the bream king and now he is working his way to crappie and chain pickeral king.
He had me down on the mat for a long time, then I finally came alive and caught two or three. Lol

The water temp was 66-67 degrees and a very warm and mostly cloudy day.

How much did she weigh? That's a pig! I am also a big fan of cajun cricket.

Honestly I didn't weigh her.
I would say about 2 pounds, just guessing
She was delicious!!!
