Slept with the window open last night enjoying the sounds of toads and frogs coming from a nearby pond.

I woke up to crows near the house and something responding to those crows... he was fairly vocal this morning. I called a few times with a box call but he was interested in 3 other hens. He followed after them so I went back inside. Gobbled a lot on the ground too, just didn't get it on video. I also was fumbling with my camera when he flew down.

I think he's a 2 year old, what you say? Turkeys don't often show up behind the house.

hard to tell on the age of turkeys from site....however i dont care if he was 2-16 he would get shot at in a few weeks hahahah

good stuff brother, and i have not forgot about sending you those reeds i have just not had a chance to run by the post office and i keep forgetting to get the extra knight and hale reeds i had together as well.

Thanks all... just practicing for taking video while actually hunting.

What cam/video unit were you videoing with? The video quality was great IMO, thus the reason I am asking.
it's a panasonic lumix fx75. A point and shoot camera that also takes HD video. and the video I have been taking is on a lower quality setting, not even HD (because I only have a 2gb memory card). For the money it is an excellent camera. Only complaint is the white noise in the video... not sure if something happened with my cam or if that's normal for the fx75.

All last deer season I carried the camera in its case around my neck and a collapsible tripod which I covered in camo duct tape. Will be doing the same thing this turkey season (did not bring a tripod last turkey season). If a bird starts getting close, camera is ready and all I have to do is switch on and record video. Now if a bird comes in from behind then screw the camera... lol

Thanks for the reply. I remember you talking about that camera and showing still pics in the past. I was wondering if this video was taken with it as well. Nice cam.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention... for around $150 it's a steal. Might be more expensive than that depending where you get it, but I got mine for around 150 online.

Very cool man.
Looks like you might have a short hunt opening day. :D
wish it were that way, unfortunately the landowner of the prop behind my house doesn't allow hunting. But I may talk to the prop manager about shed hunting, he even gave the code to the entrance gate to my dad cuz he wanted my dad to see the new pagoda they built... Lol.. The landowner has too much money and they have been working on making that piece of land look like a high class retreat or something. Also they turkeys only come through there once in a while, so they could be gone by turkey season.
