I chased a gobbler for over a mile and over 4 hrs this morning, it was straight down the property line public vs private but he would not come over the line, I started the morning soft and quiet he would gobble and I'd only respond every once and a while but after couple hrs I tried getting a lil bit more aggressive with my calls but no dead tom, I was even able to pull a couple hens in I figured once they came through he was on his way but he kept right on down the property line, we played the game for over an hour in 1 set where the hens came in.

So I had a blast even tho I didn't even see him but is there a call or anything a very green turkey caller can try tomorrow if this same situation arises?

Just because I'm a lady's man my tongue and mouth can only seem like to get decent yelps out of a mouth call so I mostly was playing the slate working some clucks/purrs and yelps.

Throw a few jake yelps in there. I've had that pull a hung up Tom before. But sometimes they just won't come no matter what you do that day. And the next day they may rush in within minutes.
I spent parts of 2 days working a bird off my property trying to get him to cross a public road. Wouldn't budge. Neighbor saw him crossing the road and onto my farm this morning right where I had been calling the day before.

Get tight when he's on the limb if you can and after fly down time scratch in the leaves...a LOT. Have a stick so you can reach a little further so you don't run out of leaves right there around your tree. Call sparingly and quietly...be the hen that honestly messages, "I don't care whether you come or go."

And post a pic when you get'I'm kilt. Good luck tomorrow.

Sometimes they just don't come. I always try to get above them, or at least on same level if I can without spooking him or have permission to hunt there. Get one of those turkey loungers. Get close to him in tree. Yelp and cluck a couple of series when he flies down and throw your call down the hill so you want be tempted to use it again.

Seriously though, try to get above him in a place that you think he would like to be or in a place you've seen and heard turkeys before. Call once or twice to let him know your there and wait him out.

There is no magic call or trick in turkey hunting. The only thing that works all the time is that nothing works all the time.

Good luck bud.

You're getting valuable on-the-job training, and it will pay off.
