It's pretty cool to put food on the table the old fashioned way. This bird went from the woods to the plate in less than 8 hours. Fried it up with some gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes. The only thing missing was some cornbread!

And of course there were no hormones, preservatives or antibiotics in this meat. So not only was it delicious, it was clean and healthy!

Just had to share...







 
I must have missed the phone call, or you were just a selfish jerk and savored all that goodness for yourself. :D

Looks darn good. I just put last Thursdays bird breast in some brine and the legs/thighs in the crock pot with a bunch of seasoning stuff. It will smell good by 430 am when I leave to go try and kill another one. When the breast is done brining for a couple days, I will dry rub it and put in a pan with a little water and cover it up and bake it for a few hours at a low temp, and try to make lunch meat out of it.
