Ok...said I's give you a report on trying rage 2 blade this season. Needless to say I'm very disappointed.

#1 15yd broadside double lung blow through...blade destroyed...on and off minimal to moderate blood trail.
Tracked 150 yards...no recovery.

#2 20yd broadside single lung.. penetration only 3"..arrow apparently backed out of wound completely in tact with no damage...however...broadhead destroyed. Minimal blood sign..
no recovery.

Other points:
Flies like a field tip...Yes.
Blade strength...week. Each shot would require replacement.
Blades came open in quiver several times.

Outcome...Not anywhere worth the price.

Needless to say I'm Out RAGED........
Don't know why I did this...I'm going back to Muzzy.

ok. i'm going to do something rare for me and that's defend the rage broadhead. if the deer was not recovered, how do you know what was hit? i have personally never seen a double-lung shot deer go over 50 yds. shot placement is critical with ANY broadhead.

Sorry about your luck.. Are you shooting a bow that will handle this big of a broadhead? I assume you are, and I have the same problem with blades coming open in the quiver.

Me 2,I have killed 3 does, all with the same broahead, never changed the blades had to dig the broadhead out of a pine tree, still using the same one..Looks like an axe went thru each one,

Did you sharpen the blades before reusing them ?

I'm very disappointed in how they open ALL the time in your quiver while walking. Even sitting in my stand, I've noticed one blade or another will be open. I'm sure somebody out there has a trick to remedy this. I've thought about putting small rubber bands used for braces around them. Haven't tried to see if it would affect the flight or not....For what you pay for them, you shouldn't have to deal with it. Muzzy again next year!!

I guess I am different because there are SO many things that can go wrong while bowhunting, why in the world would you add another to the list by using a mechanical broadhead.

Never used one, never will.
When I get the hankerin to change broadheads I will shoot a 3 blade muzzy instead of my normal 4 blade muzzy. :D

No ,I didnt need to, I could still cut paper with them after each kill. They were as sharp as when I opened the pack.
But I am also using the 3 blade Rage.Sorry to hear some are having bad luck with them,But mine stay together in the quiver, and I am walking and stalking..

One of these days , you WILL lose a deer because you aren't using sharp enough broadheads . Using a broadhead that was shot into a tree and into several deer without resharpening or changing the blades is irresponsible .Just because you can cut paper , doesn't mean it will cut arteries that will roll with a dull broadhead .
You may get by with a duller head on does , but it is much harder to kill a mature buck that can weight twice a much as a doe and have a larger bone structure.

i shoot the rage 2 blade and love them, the doe i shot saturday when 50 yards with blood pouring. The only thing i will agree on is one of the blades bent. But i love them.

Thundersheads for me, they fly like field points also. IF you take time to properly tune your bow. Mine are on 25" easton 2213"s with straight blazer vanes. They hit right with the field points and I never have had broadhead damage.

I have killed a slew of deer ranging from 5 yards to 54 yards and with the rage 2 blade and 99 percent of them died within 30 yards of my stand! Some of my hits were bad! The blood trails were massive and the wounds on all of them were massive! I've never seen rifle wounds the size of what the rage 2 blade does.

We have had great luck with them this year. Most of the trails look like massacres. As far as the blades opening in the quiver i have one of those quivers made for mechanical broadheads and have had zero problems.

a few pic.. shot them less than 10 at

I have not had any issues with them opening up in my quiver either, you must do your homework, if you are shooting mechanical heads get a quiver that is compatible with them.
