baddnole - do you know what that photo is on the tickets?

I know they are slipping, but I think the Gamecocks can take them!

Nice try baddnole, but that is Charlie Ward and Bobby Bowden losing to Notre Dame in what was billed as the "Game of the Century" in 1993. It lived up to the hype and I was fortunate to be there in person, having made the trip back to South Bend from my first duty station in Orlando. Bowden and Ward would go on to steal the National Championship from Holtz and ND in a sympathy vote by AP members who felt bad that Bowden had never won a title. Sadly, that tainted national championship remains with Florida State to this day.

Notre Dame would finish the season 11-1 with a win over then Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl. Florida State would finish 12-1 with a win over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl in which Nebraska missed a 45-yard game winning field on the last play of the game.

On a related note, the player on the ticket, #9 Jeff Burris, lived down the hall from me in Carroll Hall. He played both ways and would go on to become an All American defensive back and play a decade in the NFL for the Bills and a couple of other teams. He scored two TD's against Florida State in that game as a running back. He was a super nice guy from South Carolina and one of the best football players ever at ND.

This is a great highlight video of a great college football game. 14 players from that Florida State team would go on to play in the NFL.

FSU is 6-2 vs Notre Dame all time. I bet we didn't steal them all. :tu:

Sorry Vermin, but the tickets should read "Game of the LAST Century." But what sort of message would that send?

Notre Dame and Michigan fans crack me up.

We may crack you up, but Ohio State fans actually scare people.
