Hey guys, I've been doing my homework and plan on getting a new bow this upcoming week. I wanted to know if anyone has or has shot the Z7? I'm trying to decide between it and the PSE bowmadness, and the Axe 7. I'm leaning toward the Z7, but have never owned a Matthews before, always PSE, but I'm not in to brand names, I just want to best "HUNTING" bow I can get. Any suggestions?

I understand you want to get some opinions on a new purchase. However, the best thing to do is shoot them all and pick the one you like best. Its doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or likes.

Ditto what AirMan said. Get a bow your comfortable with and like shooting. Sometimes it's not about having the best. ANY BOW can kill a deer.

Shoot them both and see which one you like the best. Watch the grip on the mathews as some people have grip issues with them. I ahve owned mathews since they came out. Last year I shot them all and bought a PSE XForce SS. You never know til you shoot them.

Just got to shoot them like everyone has said, i would also suggest shooting more than just three bows. I have owned matthews for years and i ended up buying a hoyt maxxis 35 this year. i would highly encourage you to check them out also! i love mine!

Choose what feels good to you first and foremost but do take a look at Hoyt, they are the Rolls Royce of bows, Mathews are great but I've always asked myself "Why doesnt my Hoyt need harmonic dampeners like Mathews do" but I dont want to take anything away from Mathews cause they are awesome, I have taken more deer with the 2 PSE's I've owned than any weapon I've ever owned and I hear they are making a great bow again, its always fun getting new toys I'm jealous

A good bow is more about feel and confidence than anything else. what might be right for some may not be right for you. You need to shoot them and judge for yourself. You could ask a 100 different people and get a 100 different answers.

thanks for the advice, shot the x-force yesterday, liked it, it's fast, but i'm don't like the double cam. Going with the matthews z7. may look into buying the slim grip though.

I shot the hoyt the pse and the z7. All felt good but the z7 just felt more like me thinner grib than mathews has ever had ad the sure smoothness of the draw 70lbs feels like 60 with this bow. But it doesnt really like the bisquit and ce maximas with 2" blazers. And also get a dropaway rest they shoot much better at 40+ than the bisquit on the z7.

Love my Z7, and Mathews customer service is second to none if you ever need them!

Shot Z7 and Maxxis side by side and walked out with the Maxxis. Both are great bows but I couldn't hand the Maxxis back.
