Okay, after countless hours of research, reading opinions, etc., I have narrowed down purchasing my seven year old one of two bows - the Parker Sidekick and the Diamond Razor Edge. I can get everything on the Sidekick (arrows, release, stabilizer, sights, bowcase, etc.) for $399 and the same package with the Razor Edge for $449. I'm already having to fight the wife on spending $400 on a seven year old's bow, so is it worth the fight for the Razor Edge? Is there really that much difference between the two bows. By the way, they both have a "grow with me program" which allows you to replace limbs for $50. Thanks for any help.

I would hunt around online on AT or ebay and get a used one. I saved $500 and got a 6 month old bow off of AT. Thats just me though.

Thanks for the comments. The problem is he's left-handed and I'm running out of time. I have been looking on ebay and AT for about 2 months now and I can't find a deal that bets this one anywhere. The bow is ready to hunt and it comes with a release, bowcase, and arrows. Thanks again.

My wife just bought the Parker Sidekick extreme.. we got the ready to shoot package, for 307 out the door.. 20-40lb. limbs.

But Parker has a deal called.. Grow with Parker. when your son outgrows his 20-40lb limbs, just send the bow back to Parker and they will install the new 40-60lbs. on it for 50 bucks.

Not to mention, this bow is super quiet and light weight.

JMO...Parker hands down. The main reason is they can grow into adult size limbs and cams when they are ready and send it in and they change them out for around $50.00. My wife also shoots a Parker and loves it...

My girlfriend is happy with her Parker sidekick. Got the bow, sight, and rest for $220 used but never shot. It's a smooth shooting bow and quiet. She did put another rest on it because we could never get it shooting well with the hostage rest. And the sight is a piece of plastic junk and will probably get replaced soon. Here good things about the Edge as well. I would just search around for the best deal before I paid full price.

Got my boy a PSE Spyder, saw several on ebay for less that a $100. Thats with everthing except arrows. He is nine and can pull it back with no problems. You can adjust the draw and poundage also. Check them out. It surprised me on how fast it was for a youth bow.
