Nest advice

Other than leave it alone.

Went in to pull some cards (honestly forgot about them). Walked into the woods and about crapped myself when she jumped up. First time I have ever found a nest and on my property which has been struggling. I've been trapping and killing anything that would raid a nest when i could, but I'm worried something will get them.

Is there anything I can do to help protect it?

Just don't bump her again. Usually the first one is free, but if you bump her repetively, she will abandon them

28d after she started setting, occasionally 27d if temps are unusually warm.

Most are hatching 3rd to last week of May in middle TN, but they may have started a bit earlier this year from what I observed.
