though I'm not a snot bubble breathing, all orange wearing, beat my wife for losses vol fan, i do follow them and have my entire life. i never thought id see a 4 loss vol team that lost to vandy receive "2" championship rings. the bowl ring fine, most bowls give rings i hear. but the vatech win? and then add the "Champions of Life" comment :bash:
Butch reminds of the there are no losers coach, everybody gets a trophy generation.

Ditto ^^^i want to know were OUR ring{the fans} is for having to endure the last few years of this turbulence that we the fans have had to endure in rocky top :bash:
 
Battle at Bristol was probably a one-and-done type game. Va Tech also got a ring. It's not that big of a deal.

Vandy made big strides the 2nd half of the season. Hope they keep up next year.
 
I honestly thought they would get one for stopping the streak against UF

That in itself was a major accomplishment .

I think if you were to ask most non Vols fans it's probably one of the brighter spots in the program in many moons .

While it was obviously great to finally get the monkey off, especially with the 38 straight points against the vaunted defense, most Vol fans see the reality that the streak should never have gotten to that point. In fact, one could argue that TN should have won probably 3 out of the last 4 and maybe more.

Butch has obviously improved the program, but it appears he has taken it as far as he can. Many point that he hasn't won the East, but that really isn't a major accomplishment. Beating teams from the west is, and not losing to inferior teams. How can he lay those eggs against SC and Vandy, but then play as well as they do in the bowl games is a head scratcher.
 
I thought the gatoraid bath & getting picked up and carried after beating the cornhuskers in the bowl was a little dumb. but when you stop, & think it's KIDS playing a GAME, & it was the KIDS doing these things having fun o well.

I do think the ring was a little to much for the Vtech game the winner already got a big cool looking trophy for the game. I'm sure the players did enjoy the ring.

I do think CBJ improved the program lots, but 9-4 may be his best.
