I have been shooting Beaman ICS carbon arrows for a few years and have had good results. I decided to try something new so I bought some Easton Axis N-fused arrows.
I tried them out yesterday and the results are:
The Easton arrows penetrate the target four inches more than the Beaman arrows. I guess the smaller diameter of the Easton arrows are the reason but don't really know.
The Easton arrows are 9.0 GPI and the Beamans are 8.4 GPI. That may help slightly being about 17 grains heavier all other factors are the same except the diameter.
I guess I will stick the Eastons a couple of inches deeper in the dirt on pass thrus. Waiting until Sept 01 to try them out on a live animal.
