Didn't want to hijack the "Saban is worried" thread.

Bama fans, what do you think about the hiring of Daboll as your OC? Looks like Nick wants to go back to those he knows (Daboll was a GA of Nick's at Sparty). Unfortunately, your QB is no pro-style QB. I can't see a 17 year NFL assistant going spread. Is Locksley going to teach it to him? Oh, and he was outstanding as OC of the Browns. Not.

I'm sure they will be just fine. The freshman qb would/could take Hurts job anyway. Say he is better then him already.

Hmmm. Let's just say I'm keeping an open mind. While he's definitely got the creds to be the OC, I'm mainly concerned with him as a play caller (hasn't done it at the college level), and as the QB coach (pro style vs dual threat). That being said, even you Bama haters tend to admit that Nick ain't no dummy when it comes to college football, so I'm gonna trust that Nick knows way more that I do in this case.

TreyB, this freshman (Tagovailoa) qb is a dual-threat too. I just got back from Hawaii a couple of weeks ago (25th anniversary), and whenever I was wearing any of my Bama swag the locals would Roll-Tide me and want to talk about "Tua Tag." Turns out that he went to the same HS as Mariota. The locals were thinking he could be better, but that's pretty much expected. They were really excited about the "honor of getting one of their own into the SEC." (Their words, not mine Scioto). Shaka brah.

I know he is a dual threat... Throwing the ball is better than Hurts is what they are saying.

Sadly alot of the great candidates had already been swooped up. From my seat its a lackluster hire at best. Just hoping for a good outcome. Still looking pretty strong in all areas and the reloading processes looks good.

Nothing but things to look positive about.

A petition was created on Change.org this week by Alabama fan Bobby Wesson and it reads as follows:

This petition has been created to change new Alabama Football offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's first name to "RUN."

Imagine what the Alabama offense would look like on Saturdays if Brian Daboll heard "RUN DABOLL" 7 days a week. Imagine a world with Nick Saban yelling "RUN DABOLL" at Brian on the field instead of you yelling it at him through the television. Imagine 3rd and 3 and a stadium screaming as Bo breaks down the field for it all because "Run Daboll" called RUN DA BALL.

Imagine it. Embrace it. Sign it. Share it. Change it. Run it.

RUN. DA. BOLL.

This is a pretty clear and amusing sign that Wesson would like the Tide to grind offensively in the running game and it is a brilliant way to exercise that notion. Whether Alabama will actually follow his crystal clear instructions remains to be seen, but the last name of the offensive coordinator will provide plenty of fodder before the 2017 campaign even begins. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
