Hello to all. I'm new to this site but have strictly been bow hunting more years than I care to mention. I've shot traditional and compounds and have a number of years experience with both. I've recently moved to middle TN from the great state of Alaska and look forward to helping the conservation effort by harvesting a few of the deer and turkey here in the lower 48. I look forward to sharing my experience and opinions to all.

welcome....I am new on here too, and new to the world of bow hunting. My gf and I both are practicing currently and hoping to get into the woods this season.

Most certainly. Doesn't everyone live to hunt? I've taken Moose, Dall Sheep, Mountain Goat, Black and Brown Bear and too many Caribou to count. I've also taken Sitka Black Tails. I ran a flying service there for a number of years so it was cheaper for me to hunt than the average resident.

I like the fact that I can hunt after work and every weekend when the seasons come in. In AK you can only afford 3 or 4 hunts a year. There is no such thing as a one day hunt there. Most are all fly ins or a day's ride on 4 wheeler but the most exciting thing is you live by your survival skills on each hunt. Aways a week or more in the bush.

Welcome! Post up some pics if you've got any. I'm sure most everyone would be interested in seeing them.

Welcome to TN and welcome to Tndeer. What a big change for you to be in TN! If I can be of any assistance, don't hesitate to PM me. Do you have some areas scoped out to hunt already? You can usually get some good advice about places to start out in TN on this site. God bless you.

Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome. I purchased a home in Cheatham County with 30 acres not far from the dam and have already seen deer and turkey in my back yard. I met David Hale and Harold Knight along with his brother Butch who owns an outfitting properity in Cadiz KY and he has invited me there for a hunt this fall. They told about hunting on Land Between the Lakes and promised to show me some good areas. They also said I should try to get on a large lease so if anyone knows of any I would appreciate your help. I made several close frinds over the years in Ak through 3 D shoots and am sure the same camaraderie exists here. Looking forward to finding new hunting parters......Jerry

Welcome to tndeer ! Sounds like you have made good company . I lived in Tn. for 19 years prior to transferring to KC/MO in 2009 . This is a great site with some great members!
