I had a new bow string put on a couple of months ago. Since then the bow is real easy to pull back, not sure why but it is. Also I can't keep a string silencer inserted between the strings. After about two shots they are gone. I didn't have to adjust my sights either, my pins shoot the same. Could something be wromg?

When the bow was broken down to change strings was anything done to clean up the cams? The perceived draw weight will feel like less if the draw cycle had some junk in it. The cams will also feel better if they are in time. If the bow was a little out of tune when you took it in and the shop corrected the timing it will feel a little to a lot better.

Certain serving materials feel smoother as they are taken up by the cams.

A cable made with more strands will decrease let off compared to a cable made with fewer stands. So, if you went from 24 to 20 strand cables you will notice a lower holding weight, but peak weight should be the same.

Maybe you just bulked up the muscles a bit :D

Thanks I don't think I bulked up any, but it is a lot easier to pull back. What about my string silencers why do they not stay in now?

Most of them are junk :D

My experience has been that all of them tear up pretty quickly with much shooting. If you serve it onto the string it will last longer. Most folks have opted for a string suppressor instead of string silencers.

Have you checked your poundage? The Brace height or the Axle to Axle could be off. OR it could be your imagination. Believe it or not that can happen.

I think you are just in a panic like before you walk the isle or your first child is born and etc... Take it bake to proshop and i am sure theywill resolve your problem . Good luck !!!

i am guessing you took it to an archery shop to have the new strings installed?

if so, i would take it to another shop, pref. a PSE dealer if it was on the bow that's in your signature, and have them check all the specs. ATA, brace height, everything. shouldnt have to worry about timing since you have a single cam bow.

i got some custom strings and had a shop here in Memphis put them on because they were close to my home. when i drew the bow back i knew something didnt feel right. and they said they maxed the limbs out and could only get it to draw 65 pounds on 70 lb. limbs. and they just could not figure out why. keep in mind this was a VERY reputable archery shop.

i immediately took it to my mathews dealer and every aspect of the bow was out of whack. he gave a few more twists here and there and the bow was back to factory specs and he said i could have destroyed the bow shooting like that.
