To preface this...
Last year was my first to archery hunt, I didn't know if I would like it all that well so I didn't want to spend much on a bow. I went to Bass Pro and shot a few of the budget bows and left with a Red Head (Diamond) Kronik....
...I found out that I REALLY enjoy archery...
A little over a week ago I was shooting the bow and the top limb started splitting, so I took her in for service, where she still waits... her fate not clear. Bass Pro says they will get new limbs, they just don't know when.
So, in the meantime I have been looking for a new bow. I have been to every archery pro shop in the area and shot about 15 different bows. At the end of the day 2 bows stood out... PSE Bow Madness and Hoyt Turbohawk. I pondered it over the weekend, researched, etc. Went back and shot both bows some more yesterday and the PSE took first place.
I did a lot of searching on Archery Talk, and everyone will have a different opinion on which bow is best...
However...
...The Bow Madness is the best bow period, hands down, no contest, in its price range....
.... FOR ME.
Jason at Mid South Archery had me set up, paper tuned and sighted in, in no time. He was a pleasure to work with, and now I will gladly drive out of my way to spend money with him instead of Bass Pro.
Moral of the story... looking for a new bow? Don't ask... GO SHOOT.
