I'm still searching for a bow that fits my long draw length (31"). If I can't find anything wiith a reasonable price tag, can I take a bow with a 30" or 30.5" draw length and add a longer D-Loop. Maybe a 1" D-Loop? What about a longer or adjustable release? Do they make these? I'm new to archery so any advice would be appreciated.

You dont change DL by using longer d loop or different release.... that only changes anchor points. Im not saying you cant make it work... just wanting to make the distinction. I have seen where some top archers in the world say they have spent more time getting DL ABSOLUTELY PERFECT then anything else on there setup... just some food for thought...

My draw length is actually 31.5". But yea Gondo I knew that it wouldn't change the DL, but it actually gives you a little more to work with, at least this is what I thought.

If your actual DL is actually 31.5" a 31" would work.

Splitting hairs if you ask me when it comes to longer d-loop vs draw length. Do whatever it takes to get you to your proper anchor point. Everybody has "the sweet spot". This will vary bow to bow...don't just trust the bow's label on it. Some manufacturers run long on draw...some are true to AMO draw length.

Elite and Strother are two that are dead on AMO. I actually had to move to a 28.5 cam/module on those bows to get me where I needed to be...vs Mathews and PSE where I always had to go with a 28" cam to get in the right spot.

As for getting draws longer than 30". There are a few companies that offer such bows. I'm looking hard at a Strother Moxie for an all target bow, and just because it's top of my head, I know it goes to 32" draw length.
