Getting used to it now .

Looks sweet! Is that the 3d or the max? If the bow doesn't have them, get yourself some Bomar stops!!!

^^^^ it's the 3d max , brand new . It doesn't have the bomar stops but I've got some on the way to try . I kinda like the way the wall feels on it right now though . I'm just setting it up roughly right now just so I can shoot it . I should getting strings in the next few days and that's when all the work is gonna be done .

Its only been a few yrs ago when America's Best strings were the strings that everybody was putting on their bow. They are still one of the best out there IMO.

The D-3D was gonna be my next bow if the Hoyt didn't pan out. If you've never shot a shoot through riser bow, you are in for a crazy retraining session on how to load a bow. It took me a couple weeks to figure out the fastest way to load it, and to adjust to loading a bow that way after all these yrs of doing it from the side. I honestly think that is the "IT" platform on bows now for stunning accuracy. I hope it works out well for you. If its a good fit for you geometry wise, you are gonna be extremely happy with it.

^^^ I like it alot already . I've shot it quite a bit so far . I don't like the ABB strings on it . I had some issues with a PSE Evo a couple of years ago with their strings and I told myself I wouldn't so it again lol . But if I can get some marks set , I'm gonna shoot it this weekend .

And yes , the loading is a little different lol I keep catching myself trying to load it from the side haha .

I guess I'm a wee bit different as I've never minded the shoot thru riser design on my Hoyt bow! It makes for a stronger riser! Another nice feature, when you are at fulldraw and the wind blows the shaft off the blade it just lays in the riser, without the shoot thru riser the point of the arrow usually lands on the wrist!

The shoot thru design is a touch slower to load.

Speaking of strong risers....the next you are around a bow press like the Last Chance press watch closely when a bow, for instance a Mathews Z7 is pressed. It will be scary when you really look at the flex of the riser! Press a Hoyt bow with the Tec bar and it doesn't flex!

I don't mind the shoot thru riser...it just took a bit of retraining when loading an arrow. After you shoot so many thousand arrows and load an arrow the same way every time...anything that deviates from that will take a while to grow accustomed to. My wife was getting a little inpatient with me at the first 3D shoot I went to with the Hoyt...because it was taking me longer than normal. I've got faster at it now though...but it did take some retraining.

Glad to hear things are shaping up with it. There have been several local guys make the move to PSE this year and they say they are pretty happy. My only advice: watch the mod screws really close. The PSE Evo I had, was bad about them coming loose on the bottom mod. All they've done differently since then, is went to a torx head screw. The cams are so thin, there ain't a lot of threads in those holes for the screw to bite into. If you shoot it a lot, it wont be a bad idea to make it part of your routine to give it a good check to see if they are still snug. Might even wanna put some blue loctite on 'em for some additional peace of mind.

I had an Evo that did the same thing . While I'm figuring out the draw length I have been putting wax on them . Once I get that figured out I plan on blue loctite on the mods and limb stops . I put the bomar stops on it , it makes alot of difference . Are you shooting anywhere next weekend ?

I will shoot two if I don't have to work. There are two shoots next weekend. If I have to work, I can only squeeze one of them in. One of them is down the same road that Bucks2Beards is on...just a few miles down that same road, and the fastest to get to. The other is over in Dayton where the second K.O.S. shoot will be held. I would really like to go take a look at their course setup. But if I work that weekend, that will be too far of a haul to go, to shoot and then get back to sleep.
